A world-class web portal for faculty of the university was required to showcase their work. There were 3 projects starting out with a "pure Drupal 6 development" project based on Drupal's OpenScholar distribution for Academia. Faculty could now show academic credentials and participation. It became a central place to disseminate details of research papers, both past and ongoing.
The pages had to be organized based on colleges in the University and faculty could now be able to manage and maintain their own profiles.
The second phase was upgrading to Drupal 8 and had to be integrated into their existing LDAP ActiveX Directory Service.
Faculty could now use their central credentials for authentication and authorization.
The Third Phase was an upgrade in Design and Technology to the Drupal 9 CMS. This was an end-to-end project from design to development. The designs were prepared after active consultation with the Client and the Development Team. The next challenge then lay in migrating hundreds of publications.
Spanning a period of 10 years, this project has evolved from pure development to design, migrations and server administration.
The project is all encompassing and requires meticulous engagement, documentation and implementation.
The challenges lay in streamlining communication across Design, Development and Server Administration Teams.
